I drew Laura in her X-Force suit which has a cool beautiful design, but isn`t too sexy & show optical the professional killer, but her expression & pose mirrors her soul.
The person in the background is her good friend Gambit who has an umbrella for the girl in the rain – symbolic for their friendship. She searches her side which is a human and girl and not the killer.
So far my best & most difficult picture created a pen tablet.
Gorgeous job with the rain effect and coloring. The detail in her boots, outfit, and hair are very nicely done. Her face work is phenomenal and beautiful.
Love this whole sereness that is captured here. Nice job with the blood being deluded by the rain representing the rain washing away her troubles and emotional scars.
Gambit / Remy LeBeau and X-23 / Laura Kinney are both of my favorite MARVEL characters.
I'm glad that I collected and keep the comic book series, watched the animated series (including the episodes that are involved), and played as them in MARVEL vs CAPCOM series (MvsC 2 & 3) with air combos.
Both of them are common for having a dark past and seeking redemption. Gambit has a connection with the Mutant Massacre of the Morlocks by Mr. Sinister (including his dark side as Death / Apocalypse's Horseman servant) and X-23 was harshly trained as a living weapon made by the Facility.
This is the best artwork that I ever saw.
Sorry I`m not a professional artist.
you have done an amazing job making it so that it emotion
Rain drops, blood, and details are nice
I wish I would be already better with my pen tablet then the details would be much more better.
This is one of the most beautiful fanarts that I ever seen.
So emotive and so well painted.
I always want to dedicate a great fanart to charakters I love so much. On those pictures I try to present their true charakters and in this way I am happy that I managed it to create a fanart which shows Laura Kinney and X-23 at the same time (optical X-23 and mental Laura).
So this was refreshing to see.
And well having Gambit there as a support is great. And I have to agree too, he's far from saint status but he has this a kind devotedness towards certain people he's close to. He adds a nice genuine touch, glad you didn't add the others... Less is more honey.! Lol
Yes and especially this point is interesting on X-23. In Marvel most of the heroes are adults (Ironman, Captain America, Spider-Man/Woman, Bruce Banner, Wolverine, Punisher, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Daredevil - all of them are between an age of 25 and 35) which had a childhood (even it was short or not perfect). But Laura is still a young girl/teenager who never had a childhood or nice days with a family. So it`s something else entirely to see pictures of a young heroine like X-23 who has a so elaborate character and a terrible past. There are only few female heroines like Laura or none to speak of.
This maybe a cause too it looks refreshing.
Well, at least Laura has/had a handful of people such as Gambit who treats her more as the person she really is than the "warrior" she's grown up to be...
Refreshing and just plain ol'good work!
And I like the fact of Gambit being there for her. I really like their friendship. He's never been a saint, but with people who he cares for, he's always a good person, a good friend. He does all those things for her that Logan never did. Remy treats her like she would like to be treated, as a normal girl and not as a weapon or an animal.
However, well done
First I wanted to draw Gambit, Jubilee and Logan in the background, but then the picture wouldn`t look so lonely and depressing. And Gambit was the person who squired X-23 most of the time, so I decided that he will be the one who brings symbolic an umbrella on a rainy day, whichs stands for Lauras loneliness and sadness.
Thanks for the comment - her expression was not easy to draw - she should look preoccupied in thoughts, sadly and with unseeing eyes, but not too tear-stained and gentle.
However, she looks exactly as you wanted her to look like
